Ok second issue was that a few rounds failed to extract the empty case. So I continued to have to manually cycle the bolt.

I was kinda thinking it may have been the mags fitting loose, the ammo may had been out of spec, or the feed ramp may need a little polishing. So I figured well its a new gun, new mags, new ammo, I kinda expected a few issues, but not this much. For some reason the bolt was having trouble chambering the rounds, it would try to enter the chamber at too steep of an angle and bolt would hang up. Ok so it went like this I was using aguila 110 grain fmj bullets, and new korean 15 round mags. Well I wish I could say that for my M1 carbine.

What a well designed rifle, the germans got it right. The 98, what can I say, almost 100 years old and still hitting the steel at 100 and 200 yards very easily with nothing but irons. Ok so I took my 2 newest rifles to the range today, my Gewehr 98, and the new Auto Ordnance AOM 130 model M1 carbine.
